TWO-DIMENSIONAL INVERSE TRANSFORMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient storage means for buffering and accessing n×n block data when executing a two-dimensional inverse transformation operation through two-time one-dimensional inverse transformation operations.

SOLUTION: Transformation object data in a space frequency region and one-dimensional inverse transformation data and two-dimensional inverse transformation data in a space region are stored and accessed by using a storage means with a shift array form by using the difference of bit sizes and the difference of existing time when executing two-time one-dimensional inverse transformation operations. Dimensions in the silicon mounting of the shift array are miniaturized by efficiently sharing storage elements in the shift array, and efficiently accessing those storage elements. Thus, it is possible to increase the throughput of a video decoding system requiring high performance such as SDTV and HDTV resolutions by enlarging a data buffer capacity by using a plurality of shift arrays.
