PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drug for effectively treating diseases and/or symptoms associated with abnormality in a sensory nerve. SOLUTION: (2R)-2-Propyloctanoic acid, a salt, a solvate or a prodrug thereof has actions for ameliorating the abnormality in the sensory nerve, e.g. actions for repairing neurodegeneration in sensory nerve cells, inhibiting progression, repairing or inhibiting nervous disorder and/or promoting nerve regeneration. Thereby, the (2R)-2-propyloctanoic acid, salt, solvate or prodrug thereof is useful as a therapeutic, prophylactic agent and/or a progression inhibitor for diseases and/or symptoms associated with the abnormality in the sensory nerve.
