PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for minimizing the initial process resulting in inflammation, and also a medicinal composition dealing with the initial process. SOLUTION: This method uses N,N,N-trimethylsphingosine (TMS), its derivative or its functionally resembling substance controlling the initial process before and during the inflammation.
