SOLUTION: The cutting tool is indexed and positioned so that the tool front becomes substantially parallel to a YZ plane by rotation control of a main spindle, and coordinates y'<SB>1</SB>, z'<SB>1</SB>to y'<SB>5</SB>, z'<SB>5</SB>in the YZ plane of five places of an edge are measured, and after finding an angleβaround the Y axis and an angleγaround the Z axis to the YZ plane of the tool front, positional dislocationΔy andΔz in the Y axis direction and the Z axis direction between the main spindle rotational center and the circular arc center of the tool and a circular arc radius R of the tool, the main spindle is rotated by a predetermined angle, and coordinates y'<SB>6</SB>, z'<SB>6</SB>in the YZ plane of one place is measured, and positional dislocationΔx in the X axis direction between the main spindle rotational center and the circular arc center of the tool is found.
