A bidirectional display type flat panel display device using an organic electro-luminescent device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to simplify a manufacturing process by using a sealing layer of a thin film type. A bidirectional display type flat panel display device includes a pair of organic electro-luminescent devices. Each of the organic electro-luminescent devices includes a substrate(31), a plurality of pixels, and a sealing layer(36). The pixels are formed on an active region of the substrate. The sealing layer is formed with a multi-layer including a buffer layer, a planarization layer, and a passivation layer. A sealant(37) is applied on the sealing layer in order to attach the pair of organic electro-luminescent devices with each other.
