<p>The present invention relates to a method and system for balancing load in a network environment comprising at least one ad hoc network and at least one overlay network (10) , wherein at least one wireless mobile node (50) of the ad hoc network is selected as a head node for collecting transmission related information received from other mobile nodes of said ad hoc network, which is reported to a load balancing function of the network environment.
