The printer 10 clears the printing data PDAT remaining in the data buffer which is formed in a RAM 14, when a printer cable 50 is unplugged from the printer 10 and/or from a computer30. As a result, it prevents the printer 10 from performing an unnecessary printing on the basis of the printing data PDAT remaining in the data buffer.
