A multipurpose portable power supply for a mobile terminal using a USB data communication cable is provided to operate the mobile terminal or charge an exclusive battery of the mobile terminal by using a power supply unit and a data communication cable even when not carrying a charger and using an AC power or a power for a vehicle. In a multipurpose portable power supply(100) for a mobile terminal using a USB data communication cable, a housing has a receiving space inside. A charge battery(130) is mounted inside the housing. An I/O connecting unit(110) has an I/O terminal to which external power is supplied, and penetrates the housing. A charge circuit unit(140) is mounted inside the housing, and supplies the external power to the charge battery(130) by converting the external power to charge power. A USB connecting unit(120) has a USB terminal connected to the charge battery(130), and penetrates the housing.
