<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of easily performing an operation intended by a user regardless of the position of the user. <P>SOLUTION: An image analyzing section 84 captures a photographed image in an operation control card from an imaging device 17, performs matching by comparing image data with a registered pattern, and outputs the result of the comparison to a main control section 88. When the image data has the registered pattern, the main control section 88 executes control corresponding to the registered pattern.
