PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of a high quality heat sink by making it possible to easily manufacture heat sink material having characteristics suitable for balancing coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity required by actual electronic parts (including semiconductor devices) and the like. SOLUTION: Put graphite in a case and accommodate the case in a furnace. (step S301) Calcinate inside of the furnace and produce a porous sintered body from the graphite. (step S302) Then, take out the porous sintered body together with the case out of the furnace to accommodate it together with the case in a recess of a press machine. (step S303) Next, after pouring a melt of a metal in the case (step S304), insert a punch into the recess to press and drive the melt in the case.
