PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing raw film and a polarizing plate of which fall of a polarizing characteristic is improved in a wet and heat durability test of polyvinyl alcohol where a dyestuff is adsorbed. SOLUTION: The polarizing raw film is obtained by treating a polyvinyl alcohol based resin film with a fluorine compound-containing solution and then by drying treatment. The polarizing plate constituted by providing a protective layer on the polarizing raw film is used as the polarizing raw film or the polarizing plate of which transmissivity change and polarization degree fall is small under wet and heat environment, for example, at temperature of 65°C and relative humidity of 93%RH. Thus the polarizing plate for a liquid crystal display having high transmissivity, high contrast and high wet heat durability can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
