<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage medium using an organic coloring matter material which can record/reproduce data with the help of light with not more than 620 nm wavelength, and a recording method using the storage medium and a recording device. <P>SOLUTION: Organic coloring matter-series recording materials with not less than 100 mutual molecular weight difference, are combined together, and an identical organic metal complex is included to a plurality of the organic coloring matter-series recording materials. Consequently, it is possible to control the characteristics of randomness/regularity of a molecular arrangement in a recording layer, and thereby, easily change recording characteristics and repeatability/reproducibility. In addition, at least one organic coloring matter-series recording material comprises an anion/a cation, and a nitrogen compound is included to the other material.
