<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power saving effect more than a conventional method regardless of periodical inquiries of a print controller from an application of an external device. <P>SOLUTION: A second printer connected to a network 104 is caused to execute reception of print data or an inquiry from a host computer 101. A communication control part 402 receives print data or an inquiry from the host computer 101, based on a fist address of a storage part 404. A power control part 403 switches a first printer to a power saving state. A report part 405 reports first and second addresses to the second printer before the first printer is switched to the power saving state by the power control part 403. The power control part 403 supplies power to a portion including at least the communication control part 402 to restore the first printer from the power saving state, in response to a print indication based on the second address from the second printer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
