<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output apparatus designed such that a curl in transfer paper, which may occur in a heat roller system fixing means, can be easily corrected according to the amount of curl. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a fixing means 54. The fixing means 54 includes a heat roller 52 for heating transfer paper, and a pressure roller 51 pressed against the heat roller. While sandwiching the transfer paper, with images transferred thereto, between the heat roller and pressure roller, the heating means 54 conveys the transfer paper, thereby fixing the images. The image forming apparatus is characterized by including: a transfer paper cooling means 76 disposed downstream of the heat roller and pressure roller in the direction of the conveyance and used to cool the transfer paper by blowing air against it; a curl detecting means 71 disposed near the transfer paper cooling means and used to detect an amount of curl in the transfer paper; and a cooling condition altering means by which an amount of air blown by the transfer paper cooling means is altered based on the detected amount of curl. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
