<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust inflating and deploying amount (degree) of an airbag according to the state of an occupant at the time of a collision or a rapid speed reduction by solving the problem of uniformly inflating and deploying the airbag at the time of the collision or the rapid speed reduction. <P>SOLUTION: This occupant restraining device 10 is provided with a seat belt 22 for pressing the occupant 13 on a seat 12 for a vehicle, a pretensioner 21 for imparting tension to the seat belt 22, and the airbag 41 deployed between the occupant 13 and a seat back 15 of the seat 12.
