<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure capable of preventing breakage like crack, even if it has a high porosity or a thinned cell wall. <P>SOLUTION: This honeycomb structure has multiple porous ceramic members with multiple cells juxtaposed in the longitudinal direction across cell walls, adhered to each other via adhesive layers. When assuming an apparent density of the porous ceramic member as A (g/cm<SP>3</SP>), and a Young's modulus of the adhesive layer as B (GPa), the honeycomb structure satisfies the following relation (1): 2≤B≤100/3×A-10/3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
