<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power window device capable of suppressing an increase in the size of the device even if the number of parts of a drive unit is suppressed by sharing the drive unit between the window members of right-hand and left-hand steering wheels and reducing a load on a device mounting operation by eliminating the need of the control mode switching operation of the drive unit due to the shared use of the drive unit. <P>SOLUTION: EEPROMs 18 are mounted on the motor units 7a to 7d of the power window device 1, and regulator information Da indicating the correspondence of the motor units 7a to 7d to seats is stored in the EEPROMs 18. The regulator information Da is written in the EEPROMs 18 by a writing device 28 before the motor units 7a to 7d are installed in a vehicle.
