PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching converter, with which drive sections are provided respectively to a plurality of switches, and conversion performance is enhanced during DC-DC conversion, by controlling each switch depending on load current, as well as the input voltage, the output voltage, and the input/output voltage. SOLUTION: When a plurality of first switches and a plurality of second switches are set alternately to turned on state and subjected to synchronous rectification, the plurality of first switches are repeatedly driven to on or off state, depending on respective required outputs, and the plurality of second switches are respectively driven to on or off state, in synchronization with the first switches. Then the drives of some of the plurality of first switches, and the drives of some or all of the plurality of second switches are stopped depending on load current, output voltage, input voltage or input/output voltage differential.
