PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel estimation unit capable of estimating a multicarrier signal propagation path with high accuracy, by obtaining a weighted mean of a pilot symbol constituting a pilot channel included in a received multicarrier signal. SOLUTION: In the channel estimation unit, each pilot symbol constituting the pilot channel is modified by obtaining the weighted mean between a plurality of pilot symbols including the self-pilot symbol. The unit includes a signal quality measurement means for obtaining signal quality, based on a ratio of desired signals to undesired signals, and a weight calculation means for calculating a weight coefficient to be given to each of a predetermined number of the pilot symbols. Depending on whether or not the signal quality is satisfactory, the weighted coefficient is set to have a different order of contribution, brought by another pilot symbol than a certain pilot symbol, to the pilot symbol after being modified from the certain pilot symbol.
