PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating device and an engine capable of performing quick temperature rise or the like of engine oil by reducing quantity of engine oil in an oil pan and avoiding suction of air due to shortage of engine oil. SOLUTION: The lubricating device 1 built in the engine 2 is provided with solenoid valves 3, 4, an oil film sensor 5, 6 detecting an oil film condition on a surface of an engine lubrication system, and an ECU 7 which is a control part issuing command relating to oil supply to the solenoid valves 3, 4 based on signal from the oil film sensors 5, 6. Engine oil supplied to the engine block or the like can be quickly returned to the oil pan by performing control of the oil film condition by such the lubricating device 1, quantity of engine oil in the oil pan is reduced and quick temperature rise of engine oil can be achieved while avoiding suction of air.
