PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper alloy material which does not comprise harmful elements such as Be, and has sufficient strength, settling resistance and electric conductivity required for an electrically conductive spring material, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The high-strength copper alloy material having excellent settling resistance contains, by mass, 5.0 to 16.0% Ag, 1.0 to 5.0% Ni and 0.2 to 1.2% Si, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities, and further combinedly comprises an eutectic phase of Cu and Ag (a CuAg phase) and Ni<SB>2</SB>Si particles in the structure. In the method for producing the high-strength copper alloy material, a copper alloy material comprising, by mass, 5.0 to 16.0% Ag, 1.0 to 5.0% Ni and 0.2 to 1.2% Si, and, if required, comprising 0.2 to 1.0% Sn and/or 0.3 to 1.2% Zn, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities is subjected to primary heat treatment at 300 to 600°C for 1 to 100 hr, and is thereafter subjected to cold working at a working ratio of≥50%.
