PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope device which does not require a complicated data processing mechanism and permits shortening of transmission time even when the data amount of an image signal increases due to the use of a high pixel number CCD. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope device has the electronic endoscope 1 in which a CCD 3 is arranged and a processor 2 removably connected to the electronic endoscope 1. The electronic endoscope 1 is equipped with a digital processing means 9 to digitally process an image signal imaged by the CCD 3, a data compression means 11 to compress the digitized image signal and a data transmission means 13 to transmit the compressed image signal to the processor.
