<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device which can suppress temperature rise in a chassis in the case of removing a cooling fan and a module when required to replace the cooling fan or the module due to failure, and the like, of the cooling fan or the module. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 14, equipped with a controller 14 for controlling data transfer, power supply 13 having a fan 131 for supplying power to a hard disk 10 and a controller 14 and a basic chassis 1, monitors a state of other controller 14 and the power supply 13. When failure of the other controller 14 and the power supply 13 is detected, rotation of the fan 131 of the power supply 13 corresponding to the module, in which the failure is detected, is rotated by first high-speed rotation faster than the usual high-speed rotation, when the module, in which the failure is detected, is removed, the fan 131, rotated by the first high-speed rotation, is rotated by second high-speed rotation faster than the first high-speed rotation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
