PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional bottleneck determination method is a qualitative one depending on view of an expert in performance diagnosis and characteristics of an information processing device so that a bottleneck determination may sometimes be erroneous since a threshold value, which an expert in performance diagnosis uses in evaluating resources constituting an information processing device, is used as a bottleneck determination reference value. SOLUTION: Whether a bottleneck in an information processing device exists in a CPU side or in an I/O side is determined by combining performance information on the CPU in the information processing device, acquired by actual measurement from a CPU performance measurement means in the information processing device, with a queueing theory. Accordingly, determination is made not qualitatively as a conventional technology, but quantitatively and clearly. Further, the bottleneck determination method concerned can be automated since it is not necessary to manually set a threshold value for each system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
