PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the speeds of processes for acquiring data blocks and for releasing the data blocks. SOLUTION: When an empty data block is acquired, if there is no information about empty data blocks on an empty data block management table 21 having entries that store information about empty data blocks, then a memory BAM 25 having a copy of a BAM description in the BAM part 5 of a shared-area file 3 is referred to and a group of data blocks including empty data blocks is retrieved according to the BAM description. When an empty data block is detected, information about the empty data block is registered in the empty data block management table 21 and the memory BAM 25 is updated. Also, if the entries are full when the data blocks are released, the memory BAM 25 is referred to and a group of data blocks including the data block to be released is retrieved according to the BAM description and the memory BAM 25 is updated.
