PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential gear device capable of improving assembling work efficiency and easily reducing the backlash amount of meshed parts of a first sun gear and a planetary gear and the backlash amount of meshed parts of a second sun gear and a planetary gear. SOLUTION: The differential gear device comprises the first and second sun gears 3, 4 coaxially arranged in a rotatable manner; first gears 51 and second gears 52 meshed with the first and second sun gears 3, 4 respectively; planetary gears 5 equally arranged in a plurality of circumferential positions around the sun gears 3, 4; and a carrier 6 for supporting each of the planetary gears 5. One of the first gear 51 and second gear 52 is circumferentially shiftable, and a screw 53 is provided for holding the shifted first gear 51 or second gear 52 in the shifted position.
