PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt retractor capable of effectively restraining the generation of vibration and noise. SOLUTION: A base frame 12 is constituted of a first frame 16 to support a spool free to rotate and a second frame 17 mounted on the car body side. The first frame 16 is constituted of a pair of disc type first and second supporting members 18, 19 and interval members 20, 21, 22, 23 connecting these first and second supporting members 18, 19 to each other. Additionally, parallelism of the first and second supporting members 18, 19 is secured in high precision by these interval members. Consequently, it is possible to improve assembling precision of the spool and accordingly, it is possible to restrain vibration and noise generated by rotation of the spool.
