PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can improve the workability of printing work of images by enabling the images of characters, figures and the like to be printed on plants simply and in a short time, and to provide plants with images printed by the printer. SOLUTION: The printer 10 is equipped with a body 11, an insertion hole 12 which is formed in the body 11 and in which a petal 2 is inserted, a placement part 13 which is set in the body 11 and where the petal 2 inserted in the insertion hole 12 is placed, an ink jet head 16 which is set opposed to the placement part 13 and ejects ink to a printing face of the petal 2 placed on the placement part 13 from orifices 18B, 18C, 18M and 18Y, a driving belt 22 and a stepping motor 102 which move the ink jet head 16 in a direction X, and a ball screw 24 and a stepping motor 103 which move the placement part 13 in a direction Y nearly orthogonal to the direction X.
