PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure safety and improve operability in a driver reversible type electric stapler. SOLUTION: A slide frame 12 is mounted on a driver unit 3 vertically reversible to a base frame 2, and a guide pin 13a provided on the slide frame is engaged with a recessed part 8a of a cam plate part 8 formed on the base frame. When a fixing/releasing handle 7 of the driver unit is operated, a lever 14 pushes and slides the slide frame, and the guide pin is released from the recessed part and the driver unit can be rotated. When the driver unit is fixed in an erect state, the guide pin 13a pushes a switch opening/closing lever 10 to turn on a detection switch 9, and the electric stapler can be activated. When the driver unit is rotated, the pressing by the guide pin is released in the switch opening/closing lever, and the detection switch is turned off to shut off the power.
