An auxiliary arm (17) for carrying a wiping sheet (5) is tiltable with respect to the tip of a wiping arm (4) and the tip of an edge arm (12) parallel to the wiping arm. The tilting axes (8.1,11.1,15.1) of the arms run parallel with each other and normal to the curving windshield surface (1.1). A spring (6.1) makes the auxiliary arm press the wiping sheet against the windshield surface.
