PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method with which very stable proper image quality is obtained over a prolonged period of time, by using a fixing device with a fixing member superior in bending resistance and surface smoothness and a toner having proper cleanability, low-temperature fixing properties, offset resistance and charge amount distribution. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, the fixing member 40 contains a plurality of fluorocarbon resins different from each other in MFR in an outermost surface layer, the toner is obtained using steps, wherein a toner binder resin, comprising a prepolymer comprising a modified polyester resin and a compound which extends or crosslinks with the prepolymer and another toner composition, are dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent and brought into a crosslinking reaction and/or an extension reaction in an aqueous medium; and the solvent or dispersion medium is removed from the resulting solution or dispersion, and the toner contains fluorocarbon resin fine powder.
