摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a liquid crystal display device employing dot inversion driving, wherein each data line is short-circuited, prior to driving. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has data lines X<SB>2k-1</SB>and X<SB>2k</SB>, operational amplifiers 17<SB>2k-1</SB>and 17<SB>2k</SB>, and a short-circuiting switch 21<SB>k</SB>. The operational amplifier 17<SB>2k-1</SB>drives the data line X<SB>2k-1</SB>to a positive potential in a 1st period and the data line 17<SB>2k</SB>to a positive potential, in a 2nd period after the 1st period. The operational amplifier 17<SB>2k</SB>drives the data line X<SB>2k</SB>to a negative potential in the 1st period, and the data line X<SB>2k-1</SB>to a negative potential, in the 2nd period. The short-circuiting switch 21<SB>k</SB>is configured to short-circuit the data lines X<SB>2k-1</SB>and X<SB>2k</SB>, in a short circuit period between the 1st and 2nd periods. The driving capability of the operational amplifier 17<SB>2k-1</SB>in the 2nd period is controlled, according to potentials of the data lines X<SB>2k-1</SB>and X<SB>2k</SB>in the short-circuiting period.
