PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press molding machine capable of reducing variation in thickness dimension and density of a molded article, a press molding method using the press molding machine, and a disc brake pad obtained by the press molding machine and the press molding method. SOLUTION: The press molding machine has a large number of molding cavities and molds an article by inserting a back metal and a friction member as a molding material in the cavities. Each of slave cylinders corresponding to each of the molding cavities is made to communicate with each other via a pressure medium. A die, to which the molding cavities are arranged, is made vertically movable. Oil pressure in each of the slave cylinders is increased by the pressing pressure generated by a piston of the molding machine. The inside of each cavity is compressed by an isobaric piston. A plurality of the molded articles are simultaneously molded by applying uniform pressure to each of the cavities using the press molding machine in the press molding method.
