PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for casting a molten alloy, which can prevent segregation in a solidified steel ingot and can attain refining of its structure. SOLUTION: In the method, a molten alloy is cast as follows: the molten alloy is poured into a solidifying space, which is surrounded by a water-cooling mold wall, from a tundish for holding the molten alloy through a slag at a pouring speed of≤0.3 m/min, as a laminated solidification speed, and solidified while forming a molten pool; at the same time, a cast ingot is vertically drawn out from the lower part of the water-cooling mold according to the pouring speed of the molten alloy. The slag is preferably a low melting point slag having 500-1,400°C melting point. The method is preferably applied for a molten alloy that has Fe as a main component and contains≥5 mass% of metal elements other than Fe or 0.1-3.0 mass% C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
