<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil seal maintaining an excellent friction reduction function over a long period, having excellent wear resistance, and having excellent sealability. <P>SOLUTION: This oil seal has a seal lip 4 of a rubber-like elastic material formed with an air side slope 8 and a sealed fluid side slope 10 on both the sides of a lip edge part 9. The air side slope 8 has a coating film 14 on its surface. In the lip edge part 9, a rubber portion 2' on a sealed fluid side and the coating film 14 on the air side simultaneously contact with a shaft 13 in a contact portion with the shaft 13. Preferably, the coating film 14 is formed by a coating agent comprising a fluororesin, a polyethylene resin, an isocyanate-modified polybutadiene resin, and a solvent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
