<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chimney internal inspection method capable of performing a safe and sure chimney internal inspection work while avoiding a work in an elevated place, and a chimney internal inspection device used for executing the method. <P>SOLUTION: In the chimney internal inspection method and device for inspecting the inside of a chimney by moving an inspection device 3 along a chimney C within the chimney C, the chimney internal inspection method comprises supporting the inspection device 3 so as to be floatable by a bouyancy assignment means 1 and moving the inspection device 3 along the chimney C by the floating operation of the inspection device by the bouyancy assignment means 1 to perform the inspection.
