PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cavity structure for an optical device along with an optical device and a manufacturing method of the cavity structure for the optical device, which is manufactured with no separation groove formed in advance, having a configuration for placing an optical component. SOLUTION: In a cavity structure 1 for an optical device, insulator layers 11, 13, and 15 and metal layers 12, 14, and 16 are alternately laminated, which is formed on a mounting surface mounted on a wiring board. It comprises: a first terminal 112 which is electrically connected to the wiring board; a cavity 2 having near square opening 2a at the center of an upper surface; and a translucent member placing part 15a which is formed on the upper surface surrounding the opening 2a and on which a translucent member 124 is placed with an optical element chip 121 capable of receiving or transmitting emitted light.
