<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently process various materials having different characteristics without waste. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 is for mechanically processing materials 7 in a dry state, and a plurality of rollers 3 and at least one diffuser or contrast element 4 for the plurality of rollers are provided inside a casing 2. The casing has at least one input section 5 and output sections 6a and 6b.
