PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid compressor constructed to increase the operation range of a motor, thus surely preventing the excessive temperature rise of a motor coil portion and improving the durability of a motor. SOLUTION: The hybrid compressor comprises: a first compression mechanism to be driven by an external drive source and a second compression mechanism to be driven by the built-in electric motor; a suction passage for compressed gas to the first compression mechanism; and a first communication passage for supplying the gas from the first compression mechanism to the second compression mechanism and the electric motor. In the suction passage, there are provided: a differential pressure generating means for generating differential pressure with the passage of suction gas through the suction passage; and a second communication passage communicated with the differential pressure generating means. The end of the second communication passage on the opposite side to the differential pressure generating means is located near the coil portion of the electric motor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
