PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finish folding into a thin sheaf of paper sheets even in the case of repeating folding without causing unevenness in the shape of folded end surface even in the case of folding a stiff paper sheet such as a heavy paper. SOLUTION: The paper folding device for creasing conveyed paper sheets is provided with a folding means having a pair of two folding rollers 15 and a projecting member 14 for creasing the paper sheet, and a nip of the pair of two folding rollers 15 (15a and 15b) is arranged at a folding angle. The paper sheet is folded by pushing the paper sheet into the nip of the pair of folding rollers 15 with the projecting member 14 in timing of conveyance of the creased position of the paper sheet to the nip of the pair of two folding rollers 15.
