<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disc device capable of preventing a collision with an objective lens even in the case of an optical disc provided with a projection part. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disc device is provided with: an optical pickup 6, which has a light source 23 which emits an optical beam 21 for irradiating an optical disc 100, at least one objective lens 22 for focusing the optical beam 21, and an actuator which shifts the objective lens 22 in a direction vertical to the optical disc 100; a transfer table 11 for transferring the optical pickup 6 in a disc diameter direction; a rim detection means 30 for detecting that an irradiation position of the optical beam 21 is over an edge section of the optical disc 100, in the case of shifting the optical pickup 6 from an inner circumference side to an outer circumference side of the disc for seek operation; and a control means 40 which shifts the objective lens 22 in a direction to be away from the optical disc 100 by the actuator when the irradiation position of the optical beam 21 is detected over the edge section of the optical disc 100, and shifts the optical pickup 6 to the disc inner circumference side by the transfer table 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
