<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification technology which evaluates effectiveness of a characteristic detection signal obtained from a person to be authenticated, is robust to variations of illumination conditions and environment, and selects adequate characteristics to keep precision in collation high. <P>SOLUTION: The personal identification technology collects characteristic quantities of multiple kinds from image information and voice information (S3), specifies characteristic quantities to be used for personal identification processing among the collected quantities (S4 and S5), and executes the personal identification processing by using the characteristic quantity thus specified (S6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
