<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an empty can crusher of a simple structure which can easily crush an empty can of an aluminum can etc., by a simple method and prevents an injury, such as a cut, due to the shape of the aluminum can after crushing. <P>SOLUTION: The empty can crusher comprises a cylinder (2) which is closed in its upper part by a guide plate (1) and is opened in its bottom, a guide rod (5) which is passed through a through-hole (8) of the guide plate (1) of the cylinder (2), and a compression plate (4) which is mounted at the bottom end of the guide rod (5), and is internally provided with the compression plate (4) vertically movably along the inner wall of the cylinder (2). The empty can is kept upright on a concrete floor or the like and the empty can crusher is put on the same. Then, impact compressive force is applied to a projecting spherical surface (11) for hammer blow at the top end of the guide rod (5) by means of a hammer.
