<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce slack by solving the problem of generation of slack in a seat belt when a side collision occurs in a vehicle to deform a pillar to the inside. <P>SOLUTION: In this seat belt device, the seat belt 22 is wound on an occupant 13 sitting on a seat 12, and the occupant 13 is restrained to the seat 12 at the time of a collision or a collision prediction. The seat belt 22 is constituted of a shoulder belt part 27 passed to a waist part in a cross-coupled shape from a belt supporting part 21 of a vehicle body side surface 11 via a shoulder part of the occupant 13 and a lap belt part 28 for restraining the waist part of the occupant 13 to the seat 12 from a distal end of the shoulder belt part 27. A seat belt guide 26 for allowing drawing of the seat belt 22 at a normal time and inhibiting drawing of the seat belt 22 at the time of the collision or the collision prediction is installed in an upper part of a seat back 15 of the seat 12.
