<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring gear flange improving the service life of an adjacently arranged thrust bearing without a cost increase. <P>SOLUTION: The outer peripheral edge of the ring gear flange 8 is fixed to the ring gear, so as to prevent the axial movement of a ring gear of a planetary gear device provided at an automatic transmission, and the thrust bearing 82 abuts on the inner peripheral part of a side face of the ring gear flange 80. A portion of the side face 80c, where the thrust bearing 82 abuts, is formed in taper shape inclining to enlarge an axial clearance d between the thrust bearing 82 toward the outer peripheral side and itself. In this manner, the side face 80c of the ring gear flange 80 is inclined beforehand in an opposite direction to a deformed direction receiving thrust from the ring gear. Consequently, when the side face is deformed, the inclination of the side face 80c becomes close to comparatively vertical.
