PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which has high durability when repeatedly used. SOLUTION: The image display device is provided with: a transparent electrode layer; a field-effect transistor having a gate insulating film and a semiconductor active layer containing an organic compound; a display layer whose optical characteristics change according to an electric field; and a layer containing an optical brightening agent absorbing≥90% of light of 200 to 410 nm.
