PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitting/receiving system capable of transmitting/receiving data of text or the like selected from prepared information between wireless communication terminal devices through simple operation. SOLUTION: A wireless communication terminal comprises a display section 11, a dial key 12, a function key 13, a cursor key 14, a transmit/receive key 15, and an infrared transmitting/receiver 16. Text is displayed on the display unit 11 as data to be transmitted. Text to be transmitted is selected and the selected text is stored in an internal storage means. When the transmit/receive key 15 is pressed at such a time, the wireless communication terminal device transmits an infrared link signal to external equipment, and requests the external equipment to perform infrared communication with each other. When there is a response from the external equipment and an infrared link state is established, the wireless communication terminal device transmits to the external equipment the text stored in the storage means and finishes data transmission processing.
