PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing assisting information display system, capable of simultaneously displaying an electronic viewfinder image and photographing aid information acquired from a distribution server and controlling the photographing aid information to be displayed on a display section of a digital camera, in accordance with the intention of a photographing aid information provider in that case, the photographing assist information display system, comprising the distribution server capable of transmitting the photographing aid information to the digital camera, and to provide an imaging apparatus for acquiring and displaying the photographing aid information from the distribution server. SOLUTION: The photographing aid information comprises information for main area display of a display section and information for limited area display of one or more display section as components, and the digital camera comprises a means for displaying the information for main area display on the display section, a means for simultaneously displaying the electronic viewfinder image and the information for limited area display on the display section, and a means for simultaneously displaying a reproduced image and the information for limited area display on the display section.
