PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus and content distribution method for reducing loads upon a content server and a network in distributing real-time contents or frequently updated contents. SOLUTION: An other apparatus situation acquisition part 381 of a wireless LAN apparatus 30 acquires information on the content being received by another wireless LAN apparatus 30, while a connected party registration part 382 registers the information to a connected party DB 31. A receiver decision part 384 refers to the connected party DB 31 to determine whether or not there is the other wireless LAN apparatus 30 which is receiving the content whose distribution request has been received from a user terminal 10 and a transferer selection part 385 selects a transferer apparatus. A transfer request transmission part 386 transmits a transfer request of the content to the selected transferer apparatus. A transfer content receiving part 361 receives the content transferred by the transferer apparatus, whereas a content distribution part 362 distributes the content to the user terminal 10.
