PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for remote-monitoring equipment with improved reliability, for establishing communication via the Internet by using a dynamic IP address. SOLUTION: The system for remotely monitoring equipment has the Internet 4 and an analog telephone line network 3. A monitoring device includes: a monitor control means 11 for collecting operational status information, video information, and telephone call information of the equipment and transmitting as required to monitor the equipment; a communication control means 12 for controlling the communication with an information center through the Internet and analog telephone line network; and an ADSL modem 2 for establishing communication through the Internet and analog telephone line network; and IP address change notice means 15 to 17 for regularly checking whether or not the dynamic IP address of the ADSL modem allocated from an Internet side is changed, and for notifying the information center of the changed dynamic IP address through the Internet or analog telephone line network, if there is any change in dynamic IP address.
